COVID Penis? Yes it is true! Another reason why you want to avoid COVID-19 at all costs! How does erectile dysfunction happen from SARS-CoV2 (the virus that causes the COVID-19 disease)?
COVID-19 Can Be Considered A Vascular Disease
In the paper ‘COVID-19 – A vascular disease‘, they state: “Severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) leads to multi-system dysfunction with emerging evidence suggesting that SARS-CoV-2-mediated endothelial injury is an important effector of the virus.”
SARS-CoV2 uses the ACE2 receptor to enter our cells. The vascular endothelium (the paper thin lining that lines out blood vessels, heart, and brain) is abundant in these ACE2 receptors and make them a direct target of the novel coronavirus. There are a number of studies that have shown viral injury to the vascular system with resulting vascular dysfunction in COVID-19 patients. (SEE: ‘COVID-19 is, in the end, an endothelial disease.’ https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/32882706/ )
The endothelial attack by the virus is what causes multi-organ failure that we have seen in those with COVID-19 (SEE: The vascular endothelium: the cornerstone of organ dysfunction in severe SARS-CoV-2 infection https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/32546188/ ).
The recent paper ‘Addressing male sexual and reproductive health in the wake of COVID-19 outbreak‘, states: “COVID-19 might exacerbate cardiovascular conditions; therefore, further increasing the risk of ED.” and that “COVID-19 survivors might develop sexual and reproductive health issues.”
As I have discussed in my article ‘Erectile Dysfunction, Cardiovascular Disease and Diet‘, healthy arteries are a natural viagra and that it is indeed endothelial dysfunction that causes ED. The most effective way to increasing nitric oxide and blood flow [to the penis] is choosing a diet that is low in saturated fat and high in antioxidants. Antioxidants present in plant-based foods contribute to a healthy blood flow to [all areas of] our bodies.

If You Are Experiencing ED, PLEASE Consider it a WARNING SIGN!
Often called ‘The Canary In The Coal Mine’, Erectile Dysfunction is an early indicator of cardiovascular disease, or more serious cardiovascular issues. According to Harvard University:
“Erectile dysfunction is often an early barometer of poor vascular function and offers a critical opportunity to intervene and prevent cardiovascular disease, heart attack and even death.” SEE: https://www.hsph.harvard.edu/news/hsph-in-the-news/flavonoid-rich-foods-and-drinks-may-prevent-erectile-dysfunction/
If you are experiencing Erectile Dysfunction (a.k.a. COVID Penis), PLEASE seek the advice of a cardiologist promptly.
Other COVID-19 Long Term Effects
The people with ‘long COVID’, sometimes referred to as COVID ‘long-haulers’, or those with various symptoms for longer than a few weeks – have reported a myriad of other symptoms. Without going into great detail about those many possible long term health problems associated with COVID-19, I would strongly urge you to avoid it at all casts and get vaccinated.
Even young health people can have grave effects from the virus. SEE: Ohio State study: 30% of student athletes have heart damage linked to COVID-19 https://www.fox2detroit.com/news/ohio-state-study-30-of-student-athletes-have-heart-damage-linked-to-covid-19
